Spread the word about all the amazing developments at American Hungarian Library and Historical Society!

After successfully renovating the Library in 2020, we equipped the space with modern technology. Since then, we hosted—and continue hosting—hybrid events so people can join from anywhere.

Through partnering with the most popular publishing houses of Hungary—including Móra, Magvető, and Libri—we expanded our Hungarian book collection. We received more than 30 new books, including contemporary Hungarian literature and children's books. Make sure to stop by and check them out!

Following the launch of the Hungarian Archives, we cataloged the Library's historically important documents and possessions as well. Did you know that the Library has the fine art material that had been included in the 1939-40 International Women's Art Exhibition at the Riverside Museum?

Expanded our online Hungarian courses offering classes at all levels—from beginner to advanced levels. Stay up to date about our upcoming spring semester!

After launching The Hungarian Archives, we are slowly collecting valuable documents and photo material that is available to the public for free.

Every contribution matters.

This Giving Tuesday we are running a year-end fundraising campaign. Our goal is to collect $25,000 by 20 December. All your donations will go toward organizing our 2022 events and securing our continuous operations with the help of a permanent librarian and a program manager. Our goals for 2022 include cataloging our books electronically, encouraging the community to rent books, expanding our membership, promoting The Hungarian Archives, and continuing to organize events in our new space.
