The American Hungarian Library and Historical Society (New York) is looking for a precise and dedicated volunteer to help preserve a vital piece of history: the American press coverage of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution.

The Task: Professional scanning of approximately 100 high-priority microfiche sheets. The goal is to create high-quality digital assets (TIFF format) that will serve as the foundation for our upcoming AI-assisted processing and translation workflow.

Who are we looking for?

  • Someone for whom quality and accuracy are top priorities

  • Experience (or a strong affinity) with specialized scanners or microfilm readers is a plus
