About the Event
A lecture focusing on three remarkable figures: André Kertész, György Lőrinczy, and Nickolas Muray. Though each saw the city differently, all found in New York a powerful stage for reinvention and creativity. From Kertész’s poetic and intimate vision, to Muray’s glamorous world of portraiture, to Lőrinczy’s dynamic late-modern city, the talk reveals three distinct ways of photographing New York. Their stories also reflect migration, ambition, exile, and the changing identity of the metropolis itself. Richly illustrated and accessible to a wide audience, this event offers a fresh look at photography and the city through Hungarian eyes.
