About the Event

An inspirational musical story of the legendary Hungarian ensemble “Kaláka” as members go on an epic road trip from Budapest to Cartagena, carrying with them more than just instruments – they carry the soul of a poem, tracing it back to its origin. The journey is both historical and deeply personal for the members of the 55-year-old band and their newfound audiences worldwide.


About Réka:

Réka began her career in television journalism in 1998 as a news producer for Associated Press Television News in New York and later Budapest. She transitioned to documentary filmmaking, releasing her award-winning debut Journey Home in 2006, followed by Inkubátor (2010), which gained critical acclaim and a wide audience in Hungary. She has since produced several films and co-founded the Memory Project, a visual history archive on the Hungarian diaspora. Alongside her filmmaking, she teaches journalism and visual storytelling.
